By visiting the sites and monuments
along the Chemin des Dames, students will learn a great deal about
the First World War.
They can climb the slopes where the French soldiers launched the
assault in April 1917. They will be able to understand the
difficulties encountered by the combatants, and experience the
physical efforts involved in this offensive.
Moreover, the activity can be interdisciplinary, combining History,
Geography, Life Sciences and Art.
Duration: 90 minutes to 2-1/2 hours
The Caverne du Dragon is a museum that
was reopened in the summer of 1999 after extensive scenographic and
architectural renovations. This Memorial site addresses many
aspects of the First World War and the daily lives of the
soldiers.
The questionnaire can be modified based on the students' age and
objectives.
