From April 16th to September 2nd 2007

On Monday April 16 1917, on the first day of the offensive,
thousands of combatants were on the front line on the Chemin des
Dames. Some of them, who were anonymous et the time, were marked by
the same experience of the war. During the 20th century, some
became famous through different ways.
In 1917 the world was turned upside down by the Russian revolution
and by the armed intervention of the united States of America. It
is the year of the Chemin des Dames, with the defeat of the Nivelle
offensive, the first use tanks, the mutinies, burst of humanity.
Thanks to newspapers and pictures of the time, you will discover a
retrospective of the events which took place on the Chemin des
Dames and elsewhere.
You can view the questionnaire created for the exhibition.
